Founded in 1972 and based in Auckland, Manson Anchors began with the aim of manufacturing anchors suitable for the harsh conditions of New Zealand.
By 1985, Manson was New Zealand's largest anchor manufacturer and started exports to Australia and the Pacific Rim.

The design brief given was to create the highest holding - fastest setting -
fixed shank anchor in the world. A bonus design feature developed was a dual
operation shank to
enable use in rock and coral seabed types.
The anchor has been closely reviewed by Lloyds Register EMEA and it received a
SHHP status. Super High Holding Power. The first and only production
boat anchor in the world to do so.
